Before co-founding Passbook, Mark lived in Hangzhou, China where he was the manager of Global Business Solutions for Alibaba Group and Ant Financial. He partnered with tech companies looking to enter the China market and invested in companies looking to use the Alibaba ecosystem in their home countries in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. Before joining Alibaba Group, Mark worked in venture capital at firms investing in social impact and real estate tech and attended the Kellogg School of Management.
Earlier in his career, he was the Associate Director of Business Outreach for the U.S. Senate Majority Leader where he led efforts to build relationships between US Senators and Fortune 500 CEO’s.
In addition to being a general partner at Passbook, Mark is also the co-producer of the Venture The World podcast. He is an advisor at TXV Partners, a venture capital firm investing in millennial startups between the coasts. Mark also advises several early-stage e-commerce and fintech startups. He is also an associate board member of Summer Search. He is also a Fellow of the Economic Club of New York & 2021 Milestone Maker of the Nasdaq Center for Entrepreneurial Center.
Before co-founding Passbook, Chinedu was a principal on the pre-seed & seed team of Exponential Creativity Ventures and managed AffinitiVC, an investment syndicate & consulting firm deploying over $15M since 2017. Chinedu started in venture by co-founding tiphub and managing its pre-accelerator program, Diaspora Demo, which supported over 35 early-stage technology and social enterprises and raised over $20 Million in after-program funding and achieved 3 exits since 2014.
Earlier in his career, Chinedu led emerging market investment manager, Xcellon Capital, serving as investment director, raising and managing $25 Million of assets from institutional and high net worth investors, after holding positions in infrastructure advisory at the World Bank and OPIC, investment banking at Merrill Lynch and fund formation and corporate securities law at Weil Gotshal and Manges.
In addition to his role as a general partner at Passbook, he is the VC-in-Residence for Techstars Western Union 2021 accelerator, a Moonshot Fellow of the Kravis Lab for Social Impact, and a founding member of the Forbes Impact Community.
